I am planning to go for visa stamping soon. This will be by 7th year extension. I have the following questions. Thanks for reading my post and for replies.
1) Recently my title changed from "member of technical staff" to "senior member of technical staff" and I got a pay increase. But the job duties is the same. I don't think this needs H1 amendment. Does it ? I also hope that this will not affect the green card processing.
2) This may be a dumb question. I have the approved I-797 but the online status still shows as pending. Since I know at least one USCIS database is not updated, is there a reason to suspect PIMS delay when I go for stamping ? I am planing to go for stamping in Chennai, I assume there is no way to check beforehand. Did anyone else experience the same (online status not updated) and face any delays due to PIMS.

Don't know if it will help anybody since i'm a June filer. I didn't file EAD along with AOS in June, but on July 11th i filed EAD with 485 RN. My check got cashed on the 13th and got the receipt# from the back. The case status says they received the application on 12th. I haven't got the Receipt notice yet though. I did write I-765 on the package.

Guys, I need ur suggestion and experiences on my typical situation
I am in the process of going full time with my client.
I have my I-485 Filed in July 2007 & have EAD & AP
I am not in a position to use EAD as I got married after I filed for I-485. I have to stay on H1B to maintain my wife's H4 status.
my Client's Attorney is filing for H1B transfer and is suggesting that I can use EAD to start working as soon as he files for H1B transfer.
My understanding is I will loose H1 status if I use EAD, hence H4 will be invalid.
Was anybody in a similar situation ?
I don't want to take a risk by using EAD and my wife loosing H4 status.
Please advice

EAD is for job
AP is for reentering US
Pending 485 is status in US
So, if she is not planning to work - then no need to apply for EAD

On March 12 2009 I got an query on my I-485.
Requesting discrepancy in the labor applied on Nov'7 2002 and present working place.
My company(abc ltd) applied labor on Nov'07 2002 while I was working at the clients(xyz) place in Los Angeles.
I got my I-140 approved on Feb'15 2006, while I was with the same client(xyz) at that time.
On Dec'04 2006 I moved to Detroit, started working with different client.
RFE goes like this.
The Documentation submitted with your application and/or a review of service records indicate that you no longer reside in the same state or geographical location as the underlying form i-140 immigration petitioner and /or job location specified by your intended permanent employer.
There fore submit a currently dated letter from your original form I-140 employer which which address this discrepancy.
I am still working with the same employer who filed my labor certification.
Any gurus who can suggest me on the query would be greatly appreciated.

Immigrants don't pose any security threat as described by you. Below is a link for Citizens to watch who stole the Nuke secrets. Alleged Contractor is probably a Native born American citizen.

I am working for a consultancy company at direct client location. My client has filed a H1B transfer petition for me with job title as Lead Business Analyst. My current job title with consulting company is programmer analyst. My question is that if I go for visa stamping with new employers I797, will I have any issues in visa stamping if they see the change in job title from programmer analyst (consulting company) to Lead Business Analyst (Full time)?

For several years, USCIS has been moving more and more to a secretive style of carrying out its role. Gone are the days when rules were published for comment. Examiners operate in anonymity. A two year appeals process and expensive fees mean that most people simply give up when their cases are denied. Examiners more and more frequently seem to be deciding cases based on their own made up standards rather than what the law requires. I'm happy to report that the American Immigration Lawyers Association is taking the agency to court. Director Mayorkas all but begged AILA to do...
