Today's news that Indiana Democratic Senator Evan Bayh will be retiring is probably bad news for much of the Democrat's legislative agenda. But when it comes to immigration, this is probably a good news day. Bayh's last vote on comprehensive immigration reform was a bad one. He voted with anti-immigration Senators to filibuster the 2007 version of comprehensive immigration reform and there is little reason to believe his vote in 2010 would be different. My office has replied to RFE and as per tracking it is delivered today.

I know that most of the people on this forum are EB filers. However, for the few stragglers here who are filing in the family based category, please share your experience on filing the I-751 (petition to remove the condition on the GC). Specifically, I'd like to know the following:

- Estimated time from filing date to receipt of permanent GC
- Did you have interview with USCIS?
- Compare / contrast with first interview during the AOS process.

I have filed for 485 /EAD and AP on july 2 2007
receipt date is July 2 2007
Notice date is Aug 29 2007

I see the processing time is 90 day at Texas
I called USCIS and they tell me that they count processing time from the Notice date and not from the date when the case was filed

We have travel plans for this Dec

Can some one pls guide me how and when i can get my AP soon

The Governor has filed her response to the motion argued in court today to delay the implementation of Arizona's SB1070 law on July 24th. For my 9th year H1-B visa extension, i want to use the premium processing. All the attorney fee and any other expenses will be paid by my company. I want to pay only the $1000 for premium processing. Is this legal ? Can the attorney attach my $1000 check signed by me, to the visa extension application with all other paperwork and send it to BCIS ?

If this is not legal what are my options ?

Please let me know.

This question is for those who are residing in TX and renewed their AP. Recently I applied (efiling) for AP renewal for my spouse, the online system directed me to mail the supporting documents to Nebraska. I am thinking this is because our 485 is pending in Lincoln, NE. Did anyone who renewed their parole sent the supporting documents to TX. I have a wierd feeling that TX service center is much faster in EAD and AP renewals compared to NE. Can someone advice. Also, if doing a paper filing, can I send it to TX service center since I reside in TX? Thanks in advance.

Need suggestion and advise. I recently moved to LA as i found a new job. I do have permanent home in chicago and i m planning to rent a place in LA. Do i need to call USCIS and update my address for I485 application? Is it ok to have my permanent address in chicago continue in I485 application? Please advise.

Once you get married and get your License your spouse can file for I-130, I485 concurrently. You can file for EAD and Advance parole also along with this you need affidavit of support I-824
